MOTHER OF THE BRIDE

Dear Lord,

My daughter is getting married
She'll be starting a new life
Pledging her commitment
To be his best friend and his wife

Give her patience, give her wisdom
She will need along the way
Give me just the right words
When I'm not sure what to say

Keep me from intruding
But let me always give support
Lend a hand when it is needed
And remind her life is short

As I'm giving her away
Help me find the right words
To send her on her way

For she has found her true love
And it's time to step aside
Give me strength and wisdom
As the father of the bride

I wish her all the best dear Lord

Even though I'm letting go
